Einen Seufzer der Glückseligkeit stoßen wir aus, als wir auf der Terrasse der charmanten Ferienwohnung Respiro del Mare stehen. Wir blicken auf die imposante Küstenlinie des südlichen Cilento und der benachbarten Basilicata hinaus. Das Meer liegt sprichwörtlich zu unseren Füßen. Vom Himmel lacht uns die Sonne entgegen. Hier möchte man schlicht verweilen, stumm genießen und den Urlaub einfach beginnen lassen.

Über wenige Treppenstufen erreicht man von dem ca. 1.000 qm großen, umzäunten Gelände der Ferienwohnung (Doppelhaushälfte) eine idyllische Sandbucht. Ganz sanft fällt der Strand in das türkisblaue Meer ab. Nur ca. 100 m weiter befindet man sich schon im gepflegten Ortskern von Villammare mit seinem hübschen Lungomare, auf dem flaniert, geschwatzt, gestikuliert und sich amüsiert wird. Das italienische Lebensgefühl ist förmlich greifbar.

FERIENWOHNUNG MIT GRANDIOSEM MEERBLICK
Respiro del Mare bietet in seinen Räumlichkeiten Platz für bis zu 4 Personen. Dazu zählen zwei Schlafzimmer (Doppelbett; 2 Einzelbetten, auch als Doppelbett zu stellen), ein gepflegtes Tageslichtbad (mit Waschmaschine) sowie ein heller Wohnraum mit Küchenzeile, Essbereich, Sofa und SAT-TV.

Während des Kochens, genießt man durch das große, halbrunde Fenster ein phantastisches Panorama auf das Meer und die Berge bis nach Kalabrien. Ebenso hat man vom Küchenbereich Zugang zur bestuhlten Terrasse, ebenfalls mit Meerblick. Von einem der Schlafzimmer darf man bereits beim Aufstehen den Blick über die farbenfrohe Cilento-Landschaft und das Meer schweifen lassen. Wie könnte ein Urlaubstag schöner beginnen?

Vielleicht mit einem Frühstück auf der Terrasse, wenn die Morgensonne das kristallklare Wasser vor der Badebucht zum Glitzern bringt. Dank der Markise findet man hier auch ein schattiges Plätzchen. Eine weitere, teils überdachte Terrasse befindet sich vor dem Haus. Diese gibt ebenfalls einen tollen Blick auf das nahegelegene Tyrrhenische Meer frei.
Respiro del Mare ist mit Klimaanlage im Flur und einem kleinen Heizofen für die Abende der kühleren Jahreszeit ausgestattet. Ein Parkplatz ist auf dem umzäunten Gelände vorhanden.

UMGEBUNG, EINKAUFEN, STRÄNDE
Wer einen Urlaub nah am Meer und nah an der Natur verbringen und dabei gern auf ein Auto verzichten möchte, findet in Respiro del Mare die ideale Unterkunft. Sowohl die Strände als auch Bars, Geschäfte, Supermärkte und Restaurants sind fußläufig zu erreichen.

Nur etwa 100 m sind es zum Ortszentrum. Ca. 200 m entfernt befinden sich die Einkaufsmöglichkeiten des charmanten Küstenortes sowie diverse Lokale.
Neben der nur ca. 10 m von der Unterkunft entfernten Sandstrandbucht verfügt Villammare über einen weiteren schönen, langen und im Sommer teilweise bewirtschafteten Strandabschnitt im Ortskern. Dieser ist ebenfalls zu Fuß von Respiro del Mare erreichbar.

AUSFLUGSTIPP MARATEA
Von Villammare ist es nur noch ein Katzensprung bis in die benachbarte Basilicata. Hinter einer kurven- und panoramareichen Küstenstraße versteckt sich Maratea, auch als die "Perle des Tyrrhenischen Meeres" bezeichnet.

Der Ort liegt ca. 300 m ü.d.M. und ist in Italien v.a. wegen seiner Christusstatue bekannt, die seit 1965 auf einem Felsvorsprung über dem Ort thront. Neben der weißen Statue mit den weit ausgestreckten Armen ist auch die kleine Basilica di San Biagio einen Besuch wert. Die Kapelle ist dem Schutzpatron der Stadt gewidmet und stammt aus dem 6. – 7. Jh. v. Chr. Eine eindrucksvolle Prozession findet jedes Jahr Anfang Mai hier statt.

Auf viele weitere Kirchen stößt man bei einem Bummel durch das sehr gepflegte Zentrum Marateas. Nicht umsonst trägt die kleine Stadt den Beinamen "Stadt der 44 Kirchen". Auch abseits der Kirchen erlebt man zwischen unzähligen Stufengässchen und der schmucken Piazza ein Stück unverfälschtes Süditalien, das man neben Natur, Strand und Meer unbedingt genießen sollte.

Standing on the terrace of charming holiday apartment Respiro del Mare, a sigh of bliss escapes our lips. Our gaze falls upon the impressive coastline of the southern Cilento and the neighboring Basilicata region. The sea lies at our feet. The sun smiles down at us. Here you simply want to linger, enjoy in silence and start into your holidays.

From the ca. 1,000 m², fenced premises of the holiday apartment (semidetached house), it is only a few steps down to an idyllic sandy bay. Very gently the beach slopes into the turquoise colored sea. Then it is only about another 100 m to the well-tended center of Villammare with its lovely lungomare, where you see people strolling along, chatting, gesticulating and enjoying themselves. Italian lifestyle, attitude towards life or whatever you call it – you can see it, feel it, almost touch it.

HOLIDAY APARTMENT WITH MAGNIFICENT SEA VIEW
Respiro del Mare for up to 4 persons includes two bedrooms (double bed; twin beds, can be rearranged into a double), a well-tended, windowed bathroom (with washing machine) and a bright living room with kitchenette (incl. gas stove, oven, fridge-freezer), dining area, sofa and SAT-TV.
While cooking, you can let your gaze drift out through the large, semicircular window and enjoy the fantastic panorama of the sea and the mountains as far as Calabria. The kitchen area opens onto the furnished terrace with sea view.

From one of the bedrooms, you can let your eyes roam across the colorful Cilento landscape and the sea right after getting up. What a great start into the day! And then – breakfast on the terrace, while the crystal clear water in the bathing bay lies sparkling in the morning sun. The awning on this terrace provides for pleasant shade when temperatures rise. The partly roofed terrace in front of the house also offers a terrific view of the nearby Tyrrhenian Sea.
Furnishing of Respiro del Mare includes WiFi, air conditioning (hallway) and a small stove to warm up evenings during cooler seasons (extra charge for both in case of use). Parking is available on the fenced premises.

SURROUNDINGS, SHOPPING, BEACHES
If you want to spend your holidays close to the sea and close to nature and make do without a car, Respiro del Mare might be the accommodation you are looking for. Villammare’s beaches as well as bars, shops, supermarkets and restaurants are within easy walking distance.

The center of the charming coastal village is about 100 m, shopping facilities and various restaurants/bars are ca. 200 m from Respiro del Mare.
Apart from the sandy beach bay ca. 10 m from the accommodation, Villammare's beautiful, long and in summer partly serviced stretch of (town) beach is also within walking distance.

TIP FOR AN EXCURSION: MARATEA
The neighboring Basilicata region is only a stone’s throw from Villammare. A winding, scenic coastal road takes you to Maratea, located at ca. 300 m a.s.l. and also called the "pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea".

Maratea is known in Italy above all for its statue of Christ the Redeemer, which, with arms wide open, has been standing enthroned above the town, on top of Monte San Biagio since 1965. Not only the white statue of Christ is worth a closer look, but also small Basilica di San Biagio. The chapel is dedicated to the town’s patron saint and dates back to the 6th – 7th century BC. A spectacular procession takes place there every year at the beginning of May.

Strolling through the very well-tended center of Maratea, you come across a considerable number of churches – owing to which the small town is also described as the "town of 44 churches". Up and down the numerous terraced alleys and in the lovely piazza you also get to discover a ‘piece’ of genuine Southern Italy, which, besides nature, beach and sea, you should not miss out on.
